Subject: RE: PORT KLANG STORAGE -- short-landed bundle Hi Bjorn, My apologies for the delay in coming back to you, and for the fact that it took your repeated reminders before I did. To answer your question directly, so you have something you can report: the numbers we received were correct. This was not a documentation error on EGA's side. The bundle was in our yard and we failed to act on it. Tally did report the bundle to me at the time. I did not follow it up, and once my attention moved to the next vessel and the cargo coming in, it went out of my mind entirely. That is the reason, and the responsibility for it is mine. For context, not as an excuse: we were loading the vessel while new cargo was still being delivered, and we were receiving cargo with incomplete and incorrect packing lists. It was a hectic period of long days. None of that changes the fact that a bundle was reported to me and I did not close it out. One thing that may be relevant for your report on why it went unnoticed for so long: there were no discrepancies between our packing list from EGA and the vessel count during loading. Nothing in the loading figures flagged it, so the only signal was the tally report, and that was the one I missed. To prevent a repeat, I will make sure every exception raised by Tally is formally closed out before we move on to the next vessel, rather than carried in someone's head. Again, my apologies for the trouble this has caused you and for the late reply. Let me know if you need anything further for the insurers. Kind regards, Leon Steer
